About Us

About

We strive to make hockey accessible for anyone, anywhere.

The Urban Hockey Foundation (UHF), established in 2020, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to making ice hockey accessible to everyone, especially those in underserved communities. Our mission goes beyond just playing the game; it’s about overcoming barriers—financial, cultural, and logistical—that prevent kids and adults alike from enjoying and benefiting from hockey.

We’ve taken our mission across borders, organizing gear drives and training sessions in countries like Kenya, Egypt, Ecuador, Mongolia, Argentina, and Mexico. These efforts are part of our broader goal to not just introduce the game but also to instill values like teamwork, leadership, and perseverance.

A major part of our work involves addressing the financial challenges associated with ice hockey. We provide funding and equipment to those who need it, ensuring that the cost of gear or ice time isn’t an obstacle. Moreover, we’re committed to education and mentorship, offering programs that support players’ development on and off the ice.

Diversity and inclusion are at the core of everything we do. We strive to make hockey a sport for everyone, regardless of background or financial status. This is why we work closely with various partners, both locally and internationally, to maximize our impact.

As we move forward, we’re looking for more people to join our cause. Whether it’s through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, every bit of support helps us reach more communities and make hockey truly accessible to all.
